Lina Eve : Painting Pages

Lina Eve's visual art encompasses painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, computer graphics and video. She graduated from Southern Cross University, Lismore, NSW, Australia in 1998 and has been exhibiting Regionally, Nationally and Internationally, since 1994.

BodySnatcher! ( Nudes )

I've called this page "Body Snatcher" because I seldom have a live model and therefore rely on photography, or the works of my favourite atists to inspire me. Nudes are a great challenge, and womens body are poetry in form! Their lyrical shapes echo Nature and celebrate her.

Tributes (paintings influenced by the masters)

These works are created in a style similar to the masters which inspired me. They are not direct copies, but should be recognizable even though the images depicted, never existed.

Landscapes

Some of these landscapes were commissioned works where the buyer gave me a small photo and asked me to create a work. Another enjoyable challenge!

Adoption Art (see my adoption pages)

The series "Bad Girl" consists of more than 20 works about adoption and has resulted in several exhibitions both in Australia and Internationally. Working on the series was the catalyst which brought to life my music video "Bitter Winds" and several other adoption related songs. See my CD & Video page.

Holocaust Art

"Reclaiming my Family History" is another series (of 32 works) which has been exhibited in both Australia and Internationally. It started with a battered tin of family photos. A series which took several years of research and heartbreak but which has led to many wonderful discoveries and connection.
